Past WorkshopsWeekend Workshop with Nan Rothwell"Hands-on Throwing Workshop"Saturday & Sunday – August 11 - 12, 2012
On August 11th and 12th, Castroville Pottery hosted an intensive, hands-on throwing workshop led by Nan Rothwell. Each person was provided with their own wheel for throwing and racks to place items they made and wished to take home. Nan Rothwell worked in the AMACO/Brent booth at NCECA in Seattle this year. Nan started working in clay at 19 while visiting friends in England. While there she attended the Harrow Studio Pottery Course, a full-time intensive training course near London. When she wasn't studying she worked in potteries in England and Ireland. Since returning to the US in 1972, she has worked as a studio potter in Virginia. Nan teaches classes and workshops in her own studio, plus at a variety of other venues including nearby colleges, at pottery conferences, and at the John C. Campbell Folk School. You can view her complete biography on her website; and be sure to check out Nan’s videos |
